Flavored Coffee Recipes for a Fun Twist
Looking for a way to add a bit of fun to your coffee recipes? There are three
different ways to prepare flavored coffee recipes. They are instant flavored coffee mixes, brewing already flavored coffee beans, and
adding flavoring syrup to regular brewed coffee. Here are my favorite coffee mix recipes, as well as my best tips to prepare flavored
coffee.
Coffee mixes can be used in two different ways. If you are an instant coffee fan, incorporate the instant coffee granules to the mix. If you
prefer brewed coffee, leave the instant coffee out and add a few teaspoons of the remaining mix to your favorite brewed
coffee.
Spiced coffee mix for a hearty flavored coffee
12 oz. instant coffee powder
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. ground allspice
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend for 15 seconds. The flavored mix will keep fresh in an airtight container. Add
2 teaspoons of the mix to a cup of hot water. Enjoy!
Vanilla almond coffee mix for a soft, sweet and creamy coffee
1/2 cup instant coffee crystals
1 1/2 cups non-dairy powdered coffee creamer
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 tbsp. vanilla powder
Combine all the ingredients and store in an airtight container. For every cup of boiling water, use about 3 tablespoons of the
flavoring mix. It's sinful!
Sometimes, I prefer to buy flavored coffee beans and prepare my coffee just as I would prepare regular coffee. Flavored gourmet coffee beans come in both caffeinated and decaffeinated forms so when I want to enjoy a flavorful cup in the evening, I don't have to worry
about being kept awake for hours past my bed time. A tip here: I purchase my flavored coffee beans pre-ground so that my home coffee grinder
isn't "contaminated" with ghost flavor when I grind my regular beans. I have a friend who has two coffee grinders, one labeled "regular" and
the other "flavored" so he avoids that issue. You choose what you prefer.
Gourmet coffee syrup is also a popular addition to a strong cup of coffee. Not only will the syrup add flavor and richness to your coffee but it will
also lend a bit of sweetness to it so you don't have to add any additional sugar or artificial sweetener to your recipes. There are rich
flavors, fruity flavors and nutty flavors. Monin and Dolce flavoring syrups are some of the better quality gourmet syrup companies on the
market today. They even come in sugar free options, and they offer a very useful pump to screw on top of the bottle, for easy
use.
Go to Gourmet Coffee Beans for gourmet flavored coffee mixes and gourmet syrup flavors . It will enhance your enjoyment of coffee every day.
