A Home Espresso Machine That Brews… Tea?
As I was sipping my first espresso this morning, I stumbled upon a curious article from the Sun Journal describing a new kind of espresso. It’s called “RedEspresso” and is meant to be prepared in a home espresso machine. But here’s the catch: RedEspresso isn’t coffee at all!
What is it? It’s basically ground rooibos tea leaves. When RedEspresso is brewed through a semi-automatic espresso machine, it produces a fruity, caffeine-free, espresso-looking kind of beverage, with a more yellowish crema than actual espresso.
Apparently, the best drinks that can be created with RedEspresso are the milky variations like cappuccinos and lattes.
How’s that for a little espresso variation!
